Having Co-written the first Pyrite Testing and Remediation Protocols in Ireland, Aidan O’Connell & Associates was requested by Engineers Ireland to represent them on both Sub-committees working on the writing of the new IS398 Standard on Pyrite.
This video explains the second part of IS-398 and deals specifically with how pyrite heave is resolved and the process to rectificing the problem.
In accordance with I.S 398 part 1, the engagement of a Chartered Engineer is recommended, to undertake a Building Condition Assessment to determine the presence or absence of damage consistent with pyritic heave, and also to quantify the extent of this damage.
